The Angostura-American

If I had been posting much a week ago I'm sure this would have been in a post somewhere. As it is, it's kind of old news, meaning that it is about as current as the last issue of Newsweek or Time, but I wanted to commit it to the ether before I forgot about it. I'm sure I'll be able to resurrect it if Obama doesn't win the Democrat's nomination. There'll be a lot of Angostura-Americans then.

I think you meant arugula? In any case, I must say I've tried arugula and couldn't figure what the fuss was all about -- it was just another bitter green leafy thing to put in salads. Angostura bitters, however, make a nice champagne cocktail, and of that I do approve.

When I think of bitter, I think Angostura. Once Obama has the prize snatched away form him, I anticipate a vaste outpouring of bitterness for a lot of disappointed true believers.
