Maybe LaRussa Thinks Jose Canseco Is Dan Brown's Ghostwriter

Top Cardinal Blasts 'Da Vinci Code' as 'Cheap Lies'

For the 2005 season, I'm considering moving my fantasy football team to Da Vinci and calling my team the Da Vinci Hoax.

Considering how much money Dan Brown has made off the thing, it's more like "expensive lies" -- or at least lucrative ones.

Actually I think his worst crime isn't taking advantage of weakminded people who are ready to fall for that old "Jesus was really married to Mary Magdalene!" junior high school canard; it's the fact that his writing style (for want of a better term) is an affront to the language of Shakespeare. Have you actually read this thing? Dan Brown makes John Grisham read like Marcel Proust. Behold: the cheese begins here.

There are way too many bad books in the world making tons of money and I don't know why I haven't jumped on that bandwagon.
