My Wife Sits Down On the Stairs and Stares Into Air, There's No One There

James Lileks says The Sopranos jumps the shark. Tony Soprano leaps with the fishes.

What's the point of being here all week if no one reads through to the punchline, or, worse, I have to explain it? And when's the last time anybody referenced Robyn Hitchcock in a post? Twice?

I'm here.

And now I'm remembering that Robyn Hitchcock song about the balloon man.

Geez, I haven't listened to Black Snake, Diamond Roll in eight years. There it sits in my record collection, moldering along with the Soft Boys and the Chameleons UK.

I watched some eighties videos on Vh2 the other day and just felt sad. Did we really think this was all important? I actually have some of the things on tape...

My wife enjoyed the references, but my dead wife was unimpressed.

Of course, she's still wearing flares, so take that with a grain of salt.
